Yovani Gallardo pitches Milwaukee to first win during Tuesday's action.
April 6th 2011 17:57
Yovani Gallardo of the Milwaukee Brewers pitched a complete game shut out to earn the Brewers their first win.
Gallardo allowed two hits while striking out two. Yovani is my choice as player of the day after his outing.
Other pitchers who had good performances are Josh Tomlin of Cleveland and Jhovlys Chacin of Colorado.
The best all-around player has to go to Chris Young of the New York Mets. Young threw 5.1 of one run ball giving up five hits with seven strikeouts. Young also did it at the plate going 3-3 with a run and a RBI.
David Wright lead all batters of Tuesday going 4-5 with 2R 2RBIs a double and a stolen base.
Other hitters with good days are:
Marlon Byrd 3-4 R RBI D
Nick Hundley 3-4 R D
Howie Kendrick 2-2 2R 2BB T
Yunel Escobar 3-5 3R 2 RBIs HR
Brandon Phillps 2-2 3R BB
Mitch Moreland 2-3 RBI D T
Nyjer Morgan 3-4 T
Ryan Braun 2-2 RBI 2BB
Gordan Beckham 3-6 R RBI
Melky Cabrera 3-6 R 3RBIs
Alex Gordon 3-5 2R 2RBIs HR 2D
Lyle Overbay 2-3 R 2RBI BB HR
So far this year it looks like the year of the hitter again.
