Put it in the books

May 10th 2008 22:08
Carlos Beltran drove in 5 runs and the Mets scored 12 runs for the 2nd game in a row as they helped the Reds to plunge deeper into the cellar of the NL Central 12-6.
Johan Santana earned his fourth victory in six decisions, allowing 10 hits in six innings work
while striking out five and walking one.His pitch count was 116.
The Reds actually out hit the Mets 15-12 in this first game of a day/night doubleheader.
Game 2 is at 7pm.
And todays trivia question: What Brewers pitcher holds the club's strikeout record?
If you said Ben Sheets, you are right! Sheets put Albert Pujols to bed for his 1082nd strikeout, surpassing Ted Higuera as the clubs strikeout king.

That's about it for the update, lots of games on tap for 2-nite.
Stay tuned.
