Some might say that Piazza had his best years with the Mets. They made it to the World Series in 2000 against the Yankees. The most memorable moment "The Bat Incident" when Roger Clemens threw part of a broken bat at him
Piazza was one of the best catchers in the game, along with Yogi Berra,Carlton Fisk,Gary Carter, and Johnny Bench.
Of his time in New York Piazza said,"But I have to say that my time with the Mets wouldn't have been the same without the greatest fans in the world. One of the hardest moments of my career, was walking off the field at Shea Stadium and saying goodbye. My relationship with you made my time in New York the happiest of my career and for that, I will always be grateful."
