The battle of the fish

Hey there baseball fans! how the heck are ya? Now before I begin, I am just going to say that I am not going to talk about the Mets. I try to be fair and talk about other teams, such as the Cubs,Phillies,Tampa Bay, you get the idea. I think I even talked about the K.C Royals. I have been pulling for them to do well. But the Mets? Why the heck would anybody want to talk about them? Last year, there was all kinda talk in Queens about how certain players weren't stepping up.Now For some reason,I hate that term "stepping up".It annoys me like another saying, "Think out of the box". I not only find it annoying, but it is also a bit insulting.

I got off track.Sorry.Now what was I saying? OH! yeah, right.Billy Wagner was shooting off his mouth about how guys haven't been living up to their potential. The teams closer thinks he is the teams captain, just like the days of John Franco. Now don't get me wrong,I liked Franco. He was a class act. But a team with a closer as the captain? That's just wrong. It's gotta be an every day player.

The past two days, Wagner has blown the lead, giving up homeruns and runs like crazy.I'm going to go out on a ledge here but I think it needs to be said.Billy Wagner? Get rid of him! Maybe If the Mets make a move by the July trade deadline, they can get themselves a decent outfielder, because Moises Alou has spent more time in the hospital than in the outfield this year.

Whew! Enough about the Mets.

Who would have thought that by June 13th, that the Marlins-Devil Rays series would be worth watching? Even though they have both slipped in the standings, they are still in the race.Funny eh? baseball is an unpredictable game.

And I am sure that nobody would have expected the Cubs to have the best record in baseball either. But there they are on top in the NL central,19 games over .500.

And this weekends return to inter-league play has a bit of history with the Red Sox and Reds meeting for the first time since 1975 when the Big Red Machine rolled over the Red Sox in the '75 World Series.Heh-heh.

The Yankees are playing the Astros. The Mets are plaing the Rangers.(They are losing already as the Rangers already scored a run)

So that's about it.Nothing else to say.

Have a nice weekend
