I Live For This
What a great slogan.Possibly one of the most passionate ways to describe real baseball fans.
And who is better than us right now?We have the weather starting to heat up(although here on the East coast it seems to be taking a little longer) along with some teams that are heating up as well:Like the D-backs.Devil Rays,The Marlins and The Cubs, and there is a 3-way tie in the American League Central with The White Sox,Twins, and Indians, with the Royals a close 2nd, a game and 1/2 back. (THE Kansas City Royals?)
It's kinda kooky to think that if the season were to end today, those teams would be in the playoffs.
It was a hitters paradise at Busch Stadium today between the Cardinals and Devil Rays, thanks to a generous wind. The red birds prevailed with a 9-8 victory. That victory also happens to be manager Tony Larussa's 2,400th of his career. The win puts Larussa 3rd on the all-time list of most wins by a skipper.John McGraw is 2nd with 2,763, and Connie Mack is the leader with 3,731.
Other skippers on the all-time list are Bobby Cox,4th with 2276 victories, Sparky Anderson,5th with 2,194 wins, and Joe Torre is 8th with 2,089 wins.
Even though those are some great skippers, one of the all time favorites didn't make it on the list...............
