Grocery Shopping is Alone Time

There are a lot of things I like to do in the company of others, but grocery shopping is not one of them.
When I take a tour through my kitchen and figure out what I need, set my home security alarm (I suggest finding an adt alert near Portland ), and drive down to Stop & Shop, I don't want anyone with me. Why? Because on any given grocery trip, I might want to be bad. And I don't want any judgmental stares or clucking tongues stopping me.
Yes, I'm well aware that I should be eating lots of fresh fruits and veggies. But I also know which door leads directly into the produce section and which leads right into the bakery. Three guesses which door has my fingerprints. That's when it's especially important to be alone, in the bakery. Just me and the pies. Just me and the cakes. Just me and the cookies. None of them offering up their opinion of my diet. All just sitting there, sweet and gooey, waiting for me to choose.
Now I'm aware that I said I don't want company while grocery shopping because I don't want to hear about how bad the sweets are for me. But closer to the truth is that I don't want company because I don't want to share.
So go ahead and have your banana. I'll have the banana cream.
