More trade talks

adam dunn griffey trade

There are some pretty big trade talks going on. The Reds are thinking of unloading Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr. As far as I know, there hasn't been any mention of who they might be traded to or who the Reds are looking to get. There have been reports that Griffey is willing to give up his no trade clause and go to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, but his agent said that is not true. Griffey is in the final season of a nine-year, $116.5 million contract. If the trade did go down, it would put him close to his home in Orlando Florida. Griffey is batting .248 with seven home runs and 30 RBIs this season. He hit homerun number 600 Monday against the Marlins, moving him to sixth on the all-time homerun list.

And the Mets picked up Trot Nixon from the Arizona Diamond backs for a player to be named or cash. (That’s pretty tragic)

cash player to be named

The Dodgers picked up the 2003 rookie of the year. Shortstop Angel Berroa was traded to the Dodgers from the Royals on Friday. The Royals received infielder Juan Rivera.
Speaking of the Dodgers, keep an eye out for Joe Torre in a television commercial about Los Angeles. He is shown on a surfboard wearing a wet suit and his Dodgers cap.

With the Seattle Mariners playing horrible baseball this season, they might be looking to unload starting pitcher Eric Bedard. The Phillies are looking for starting pitching to solidify their staff. And even though the Cubs lost Carlos Zambrano and Alphonso Soriano to the DL, they still keep winning, but they could use some arms to help them through the dog-days.
The Washington Nationals, the worst team in the National league are looking to improve the team by making some moves. They are claiming that there isn't going to be a "fire sale", but the only player they have to offer is catcher Paul Loduca. They are trying to market him by putting him at first base. (That's pretty tragic too)
The Yankees are short on pitching with Chien-Ming-Wang, Ian Kennedy, and Phil Hughes hurt, they just have to get by with veteran Sidney Ponson and Dan Giese. The only player they have to offer is Latroy Hawkins.
The Mets have nothing to offer. Maybe they could have a fire sale and get some cash to help pay for the new Stadium. Because the way they have been playing, there just might not be too many fans attending Citifield beyond opening day next year.
So hold onto your hats and keep an eye on some possible trade. It is going to be a very interesting couple of weeks!
