Trade Rumors
It's getting to be that time of year again. The kids are getting out of school, the summer solstice is just around the corner, while the Fourth of July is only a few weeks away, and the MLB trade deadline is approaching. Now I am not a big fan of gossip, or rumors ( I am a fan of Fleetwod Macs "Rumors" )
According to Jim Leyland, The Detroit Tigers would have been interested in Barry Bonds if they didn't have Gary Sheffield. Could you imagine Bonds and Sheffield on the same team?
The Tigers are showing interest in Freddy Garcia, who is coming back from shoulder surgery, and if all goes according to plan he could reach a Major League mound in late August.Other teams interested in Garcia are the Mets, Red Sox, Braves, Yankees, White Sox, Rangers, and Mariners.
The Yankees are still talking about C.C. Sabathia, but GM Brian Cashman isn't too hot on the trade. He considers Phil Hughes to be "Untouchable". But they are talking about maybe picking up a Paul Byrd or Randy Wolf.Other pitchers that the Yanks might be interested in are
Kevin Millwood, Vicente Padilla, Rich Harden, Erik Bedard, and Derek Lowe.

Lou Pinella and the Chicago Cubs bring their best record in baseball to Tampa Bay, against Pinellas old team. Ryan Dempster, 8-2 on the year with a 2.81 ERA and 75 strikeouts vs. Devil Rays Scott ( The Mets shoulda NEVER traded me) Kazmir, who is 6-2 on the year with a 1.74 ERA with 54 strike outs. This game should be fun to watch.
