The return of the boys of summer
Jimmy James
Trailing clouds of glory! Can you believe it? Pitchers and catchers have already arrived and it has been a week of full team workouts! And to top it all off, the first spring training games will start in five days! It has been a long, cold, lonely winter indeed. Although we still have the rest of February left, March is gonna get here quick. The only problem I see is getting through all that college basketball. I just aint a fan of it. I tried, I really did.
I also would like to inform y'all ( I wonder if there is anybody that even reads this blog) that I probably wont include long posts that have a spotlight on stats. I just cant do it anymore. It really takes too much time, not to mention the toll it takes on my mental and emotional health.
I also would like to tell y'all that I will be among the first to witness the first game ever to be played at the New York Mets brand new facility, Citifield.
You guessed it. I will be in attendance at the April 3rd game between the Mets and the Red Sox. I am in the process of buying all kinds of memory cards for my digital camera so I can provide you with loads of shots of the new facility, along with close ups of the players as well, because our seats are THAT close!
Yes that's right. This blog is all about me and everyone that reads it is just along for the ride.
I hope you are all looking forward to the upcoming season. You really gotta love the start of a new season because every team starts off even. The Washington Nationals are a 130-1 favorite to win the World Series this year, but in April, those fans feel like they just might have a shot.
So lets all start thinking about the warm weather, and the promise of a new spring and a new season of baseball.
Who is gonna be the team to beat?
Will the Mets choke for a third year in a row?
Can the Yankees get anymore controversy before the season starts?
Can the Phillies repeat?
It will be good to see Baseball again!
