2011 National MVP Race: Week One

Three players have stood out thru the first week of the 2011 MLB season in the National League.
Yes, it is early to give anybody the MVP award just yet but lets take a look at the three players who are leading the field.
Ryan Howard (Philadelphia) Howard is getting off to a fast start. Howard knows what it takes to win the MVP award winning it in 2006. Howard is 31 years old and has 253 career home runs entering this year. Howard's stat line is 11-21 for a .524 avg, 5 runs ,2 home runs ,8 RBI.
Neil Walker (Pittsburgh) The 25 year old Walker is making his starting his first full season with the Pirates after having call ups the last two years. Walker is pacing the surprising Pirates with a stat line as follows. 9-26 for a .346 avg, 5 runs, 2 home runs, 8 RBI.
Brandon Phillips (Cincinnati) Phillips is your dream everyday player. Brandon and the Reds are off to a undefeated start. Phillips is batting a solid .450 on 9-20 hitting. He has scored 9 runs with one home run. He has drove in four runs while stealing one base.
Other players are of to fast starts also but these three have caught my eye as early NL MVP candidates.
